据中国驻多伦多总领馆消息,11月26日,加拿大安大略省多伦多市附近发生严重交通事故,4名中国留学生车祸身亡。

据当地媒体《多伦多星报》报道,车祸发生在加拿大安大略省的亨兹维尔附近,大约是当地时间周六晚上刚过11点。相撞车辆是一辆奔驰SUV和一辆福特SUV,奔驰车上载有4名来自大多伦多地区,年龄15-17岁之间青少年,福特SUV上是一名来自亨兹维尔的42岁女性。事故发生在60号高速公路靠近Hidden Valley Road的位置。

当时奔驰SUV由东向西行驶,福特SUV由西向东行驶。事故发生后加拿大安大略警方迅速到场,当场宣布奔驰车上的4名青少年死亡,而42岁女子则在被送往医院后死亡。

据警方介绍,在这起事故发生后,他们将高速公路封锁了几个小时,以调查这起事故的真相。目前警方尚未透露更多的消息,仍在对这起事件进行调查。

Four teenagers from the Greater Toronto Area were killed in a two-car crash in Huntsville Saturday night, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

A 42-year-old woman from Huntsville also died as a result of the crash, police say. The teenagers were between the ages of 15 to 17 and were from Richmond Hill and North York, according to the OPP.

Police received the call around 11:10 p.m. Saturday for a serious crash on Highway 60 near Hidden Valley Road, according to a news release issued Sunday.

The four teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene while the woman died in hospital, police say.

The teenagers were heading westbound in a Mercedes SUV while the woman was heading eastbound in a Ford SUV, according to the OPP. The highway was closed for several hours while police investigated.

Police are asking anyone with footage of the collision to contact Huntsville OPP.

No other information was immediately released.

Five people, including four teens from the Greater Toronto Area, are dead after a two-vehicle crash near Huntsville, Ont., on Saturday night.

Shortly after 11 p.m. that night, Ontario Provincial Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 60 near Hidden Valley Road. The incident happened about seven kilometres from Huntsville, northeast of Fairy Lake. The collision involved a westbound Mercedes SUV and an eastbound Ford SUV.

The OPP said that four people between the ages of 15 and 17 from North York and Richmond Hill were in the Mercedes. All four were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford was a 42-year-old woman from Huntsville. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Police haven’t yet revealed the cause of the collision or the identities of the victims. They are still investigating the incident.

Huntsville OPP are urging witnesses and/or those who have video footage of the collision to contact the police at 1-888-310-1122.
