A total of RM52.5 million of the RM400 million “one-off” assistance received by the PAS-led Kelantan government from the federal government will be used for the construction and renovation of ‘Dhuaafat’ homes

A total of RM52.5 million of the RM400 million “one-off” assistance received by the PAS-led Kelantan government from the federal government will be used for the construction and renovation of ‘Dhuaafat’ homes (for those earning RM1,000 and below), as well as to repair and maintain village roads and restore clean water supply.

Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said the project would be implemented in all constituencies in the state as soon as possible.

“At the state executive council meeting today we decided to allocate RM400,000 to each state constituency for the building and repair of Dhuaafat homes.

“Every house built, worth between RM38,000 and RM40,000, is based on the model home by the Kelantan Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council. An allocation of RM100,000 will also be provided to each state constituency to repair and maintain village roads,” he told reporters after the meeting here today.

He said RM30 million would be spent on the restoration of clean water supply in certain areas, including Tumpat, Kota Bharu and Bachok.

Ahmad said all the expenses made from the allocation received would be reported to the federal government.
